No Time To Think Of Lyrics -- I'm Going to be Late For Work

Corey and I went back to my home town for the long weekend. One of my best friends got married on Presidents Day. I'd have to say that was the best wedding I've been to since my own (pretentious, much?). One of the best parts of the wedding was that it wasn't in New York. Okay, that's not actually one of the best, but I needed a smooth transition into a rant on how much I hate New York. I really don't understand why people are allowed to live here. It is over-crowded. People here are mean. Aside from my friends and family (and extended family) that live here, no New Yorkers even seem to notice this. Corey and I are stuck here for only 1 year and 3 months more, then we're off to either my hometown or his. I find myself wanting more and more to move to my home town though, since most of my closest friends from high school have moved back there.I don't want to have to make new friends!

oy. I hate the overcrowdedness of NY, but I do love the fact that NYers mind their own business, oh, and the convenience of it. I'm scared to drive, and I love all the Kosher places!! I just hate the frum people here...but I think thats more "the grass is greener on the other side" type of thing for me.

No, the frum people (in general, there are exceptions of course) are a lot different than frum people in other areas. There's this coldness to them that you don't find in "out of town" areas. Before my husband and I were married and he would come to my hometown to visit me for a shabbas, in shul he would get several invites for a meal simply because people saw a new face and wanted to make sure he had a place to go. And whenever I would go visit him in his hometown all the people at the shul were so friendly. Here, even if I wanted to go to shul I couldn't because most of them don't have women sections! (I'm actually not a big shul-goer so it doesn't bother me, but I can see how it would bother people who do enjoy going to shul on shabbas).

and thanks for the mazal tov :-)
